As Plantas Tintureiras de Alcochete

Durante este encontro, vamos fazer uma caminhada para identificar e recolher plantas tintureiras espontâneas da primavera. Muitas delas são consideradas “ervas daninhas”, mas em realidade são cheias de cor e potencial criativo. Ao longo do percurso, vamos aprender a reconhecer algumas espécies sazonais que podem encontrar com facilidade no vosso dia-a-dia.

Depois da colheita, regressamos ao terraço da Alice, onde vamos brincar com as plantas recolhidas mediante a tinturaria natural e impressão botânica. Tecidos de algodão em tamanho A4 estão incluídos, para que todos possam explorar e experimentar livremente.

Se quiserem tingir ou estampar algo especial (como uma peça de roupa ou tecido vosso), podem trazê-lo já pré-tratado, ou podem entregar-me (num mercado, em mão, ou por uber) até uma semana antes do workshop para que eu possa fazer a mordentagem necessária.

Este workshop é especialmente indicado para pessoas que já têm noções básicas de tingimento natural ou impressão botânica, mas que querem ganhar mais confiança na identificação de plantas e em perceber quais realmente funcionam na tinturaria.

Uma nota sobre deslocações: Vou tentar organizar boleias para nos deslocarmos. No meu carro posso levar mais 4 pessoas a partir de Oeiras/Carcavelos. Se alguém estiver a partir de Lisboa e podem levar pessoas, por favor digam!

During this gathering, we will go on a foraging walk to identify and collect spontaneous spring dye plants. Many of them are considered “weeds”, but in reality they are full of color and creative potential. Along the way, we will learn to recognize some seasonal species that you can easily find in your everyday surroundings.

After the harvest, we will return to Alice’s terrace, where we will play with the plants we collected through natural dyeing and eco printing. Cotton fabrics in A4 size are included so that everyone can explore and experiment freely.

If you would like to dye or print something special (such as your own garment or piece of fabric), you can bring it already pretreated, or you can give it to me (at a market, in person, or by Uber) up to one week before the workshop so that I can mordant it for you.

This workshop is especially suited for people who already have a basic understanding of natural dyeing or botanical printing, but who want to gain more confidence in plant identification and in understanding which plants actually work for dyeing. 🌿

A note about transport: I will try to organize carpools for getting there. In my car I can take up to 4 people from Oeiras/Carcavelos. If anyone is coming from Lisbon and can offer a ride  to others, please let me know!
