Dye Plant of the Month - Oxalis

For former students and individuals who already know the basics of natural dyeing and ecoprinting. This is your opportunity to dive deep on individual plants in this once-a-month club.

In January, we’ll focus on Oxalis pés-caprea, an invasive herbaceous plant that is currently carpetting my region of Portugal. It’s vibrant yellows can be used without a mordant and printing with it is totally unique. For January , we’ll be dyeing AND printing with the whole plants - flowers, stalks & leaves.

Materials included are plain fabrics in ~A4 size (2 per person). Other blanks like tshirts and totes are available for purchase in the moment. If you wish to being your own pieces, please mordant them on your own beforehand so they’re ready to dye in the session.

Please note, this first edition is at a VERY special symbolic price so I can experiment with the concept and get feedback. After this first edition, the price will be set on a sliding scale around ~€30.

Para ex-alunos e pessoas que já conhecem as bases do tingimento natural. Esta é a sua oportunidade de mergulhar fundo em plantas individuais neste clube mensal.

Em janeiro, vamos focar-nos na Oxalis pés-caprea, uma planta herbácea invasora que atualmente cobre a minha região de Portugal. Seus amarelos vibrantes podem ser usados ​​sem mordente e a impressão com ele é totalmente única. Em Janeiro estaremos a praticar tingir E fazer impressão botânica nos nosses tecidos.

Cada participante terá acesso a dois tecidos em A4 já mordentados incluídos no preço e terei ‘blanks’ (peças prontas para tingir) como tshirts, aventais, e sacos de pano disponíveis para compra. Se quiserem trazer vosso proprio material , por favor façam o processo de mordençagem em casa e trazer pronto para tingir.
